Please join Overheard with Evan Smith for an interview with actor Bradley Whitford on Saturday, April 27th, 2024 at 3:15pm in Studio A at Austin PBS’s new facility, the Austin Media Center (map).

Bradley Whitford

Bradley Whitford, a classically trained stage actor, quickly gained overnight fame as the sarcastic yet vulnerable, Josh Lyman, on NBC’s “The West Wing,” for which he won a Primetime Emmy Award in 2001. One of the few actors working successfully and simultaneously in theater, film and television, Whitford is one of Hollywood’s most sought-after talents.

In 2015, he won a second Primetime Emmy Award for his role as Marcy in Transparent and later garnered a fifth Primetime Emmy Award nomination for portraying Magnus Hirschfeld in the same series. Since 2018, Whitford has portrayed Commander Joseph Lawrence in Hulu drama The Handmaid’s Tale, for which he won his third Primetime Emmy Award in 2019.
